Job Summary
Fabriweld Corporation is seeking a motivated Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our fabrication department. In this role, you will be responsible for the precise installation of mechanical components and the assembly of large machinery and equipment. We take high personal pride in our craftsmanship and are looking for a technician who can contribute to the successful startup and troubleshooting of both new and refurbished equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Installation: Read and interpret complex blueprints and schematics to assemble mechanical components with high precision.
- Component Integration: Cut enclosures and install devices, receptacles, and various mechanical parts.
- Equipment Startup & Support: Assist with initial functional testing and the startup phases of equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical issues during the assembly and testing processes.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team or independently to meet production goals and support general manufacturing processes.
- Tool Proficiency: Utilize a personal hand toolset to secure and fasten parts to manufacturing equipment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience working with mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical schematics.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong multi-tasking abilities, and effective time management.
- Problem Solving: Resourceful and creative problem-solver who can work well under pressure with limited supervision.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to navigate a shop floor environment regularly.
- Must be able to sit, stand, balance, stoop, kneel, walk, and use fingers to manipulate tools and controls.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
Schedule & Expectations
- Hours are dictated by workload and may occasionally require more than a typical 40-hour work week.
- Some travel may be required.
- Punctuality and a high standard of work are essential expectations for this position.
