Customer Order Coordinator / Production Planner

Fabrication Division – Full Time

Position Summary

We are a growing metal fabrication company seeking a detail-oriented Customer Order Coordinator / Production Planner to manage customer orders, coordinate production schedules, and serve as the primary point of contact for delivery status.

This role is critical to ensuring accurate order entry, clear communication with customers, and smooth flow of work through the shop.

Key Responsibilities

Order Entry & Review

• Enter customer purchase orders into ERP system accurately and on time
• Review orders for completeness (pricing, quantities, due dates, revisions)
• Coordinate with internal team to resolve discrepancies before release

Production Scheduling & Coordination

• Schedule and release jobs to the shop based on due dates and priorities
• Work closely with production to adjust schedules as needed
• Track order progress through fabrication, welding, and finishing
• Identify and communicate potential delays early

Customer Communication

• Serve as primary point of contact for customers on order status
• Provide updates on delivery timing, delays, and expedites
• Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Limited Vendor Coordination (as needed)

• Assist with supplier follow-ups for order status when required

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, order management, or customer service
• Experience in fabrication or machining environment preferred
• ERP experience (JobBoss or similar) a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Clear and professional communication skills

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
