Quality Engineer

Fabri
Framingham, MA Full Time
POSTED ON 1/7/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/5/2026
Fabri is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our dynamic, fast-growing team. This role is central to establishing the quality systems, metrology capabilities, and certification processes that will support our fully integrated digital foundry. You will help define and implement the foundational quality infrastructure required to deliver high-precision investment castings to aerospace and other demanding industries.

The Company

We are an early-stage investment casting startup building a fully integrated digital foundry. Our mission is to deliver precision metal castings with unparalleled speed and cost-effectiveness. By leveraging our exclusive high-throughput additive manufacturing process and AI-driven design software, we can deliver castings in days, saving our customers critical time and money. We are well capitalized and backed by top-tier investors and major customers, with significant funding raised in the past year. We’ve shipped our first customer parts and have generated significant commercial excitement in both the aerospace and industrial sectors.

Fabri is located in Boston Metrowest. During this startup phase and for the foreseeable future, all employees will be on-site and closely involved with building and operating the end-to-end process.

This is a full-time, in-office position and the shift schedule is flexible. To comply with ITAR registration regulations, candidates for this role must be US nationals (i.e. citizens or lawful permanent residents) to be considered.

The Role

Reporting to the COO, the Quality Engineer will define, implement, and operate Fabri’s quality systems from the ground up. This includes leading our AS9100 certification efforts, establishing metrology workflows, managing nonconformances, and ensuring customer specifications are deeply understood and consistently met. You will collaborate closely with foundry, design, software, and operations teams to build a robust quality function aligned with our digital manufacturing vision.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in early-stage environments and enjoys building systems that scale.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the metrology function, including specifying, installing, maintaining, and operating measurement and inspection equipment.
  • Interpret and internalize customer specifications to ensure all shipped parts meet requirements.
  • Manage the nonconformance (NC) and material review board (MRB) processes.
  • Own the implementation, maintenance, and day-to-day operation of our eQMS.
  • Lead Fabri’s AS9100 certification process and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Develop and maintain quality trending and reporting.
  • Identify, implement, and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with foundry and engineering teams to analyze defects and improve processes.
  • Support continuous improvement of our digital foundry workflows and quality control methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with metal parts, including machined, formed, or cast components.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and CAD files, including proficiency with GD&T.
  • Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (AS9100, ISO9001, or similar).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong understanding of measurement techniques and inspection fundamentals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience implementing or administering an eQMS.
  • Hands-on experience with AS9100 audits, certification, or surveillance processes.
  • Familiarity with investment casting, precision manufacturing, or advanced fabrication processes.
  • Exposure to CT, X-ray, CMMs, or other advanced inspection technologies.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (JMP, Minitab, Python, etc.).
  • Experience in a startup or fast-moving production environment.
  • Understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality engineering fundamentals.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work at the cutting edge of digital manufacturing and AI-driven design.
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Stock options.
  • Professional development and growth opportunities.
