Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of metalworking machinery including welding equipment, robotic welding, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and plate rolls to shape and form metal parts.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments to inspect parts for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Perform welding tasks utilizing various techniques such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding to join metal parts securely.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to identify defects or deviations from standards.
- Maintain safety protocols when operating cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment while handling sheet metal and fabricated components.
- Assist in assembly processes by fitting parts together according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by maintaining clean work areas and properly managing tooling and fabrication materials.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating plasma cutting machines, press brakes, plate rolls, and welding equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes and metal fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T specifications for precise machining.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection.
- Familiarity with basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in machining tasks.
- Certification or experience with forklift operation and crane handling is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards.
