What are the responsibilities and job description for the Work to Existing (W2E) - Saw Crew Foreperson position at Fabcon?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Is a working foreperson; work concurrently with crew to complete job while supervising work
- Ensure that established safety and quality values are followed
- Provide work direction, and promote teamwork, amongst the crew members
- Represent the company on, and off, job sites and communicate effectively with general contractor and sub-contractors
- Implement company policies and procedures to ensure work performance is in compliance with ISO and OSHA standards, and DOT regulations
- Hire local union members when required and discharge crew members, if necessary
- Provide daily reports to administrative personnel and superintendent on the job’s progress and estimated completion dates
- Interface for internal and external customers to ensure satisfactory completion of the job
- Communicates all problems to the superintendent in a timely manner
- Verify saw details prior to starting the job
- Complete sawing in a systematic manner to ensure completion
- Use technical knowledge to expertly saw openings and confirm the work completed by others
- Complete work in a manner that minimizes cleanup work
- Other duties as assigned by superintendent and/or management
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Valid driver’s license
- Five years minimum of saw laborer experience
Other Required Qualifications:
- Familiarity of general construction practices
- Adapts readily to change
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
- Ability to plan the required work to complete a job in a timely and efficient manner
- Deep understanding of sawing equipment and techniques
- Ability to address conflict and collaborate towards a solution
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner at all organizational levels
- Ability to navigate various technological devices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Initiative to develop yourself and others
- Possess extraordinary work habits and demonstrates them to crew members
- Completion of OSHA 30-hour
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel
- Ability to work extensive overtime when required
- Ability to work from ladders and aerial work platforms
- Field: Must be able to traverse uneven ground, move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, climb on a flatbed semi-trailer

- Field:All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles
