What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Buyer position at Fabco-Air, Inc.?
Are you a strategic sourcing professional who thrives on building strong supplier partnerships, driving cost savings, and ensuring operational excellence? We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to play a critical role in supporting our production operations through effective procurement strategies and supplier management.
In this position you will be responsible to:
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for commodities and product categories
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers
• Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Measure and monitor supplier performance using KPIs (OTD, quality performance, cost competitiveness, responsiveness)
• Attend supplier business reviews and corrective action plans
• Resolve supplier-related issues impacting production
• Review and process purchase requisitions
• Issue purchase orders and manage order acknowledgments
• Ensure material availability to support production schedules
• Manage inventory levels while minimizing excess stock
• Expedite critical materials to prevent production interruptions
• Manage material shortages and supply chain disruptions
• Identify saving opportunities through analysis of market trends, pricing and cost drivers
• Mitigate supply chain risks through dual sourcing, supplier diversification, and contingency planning
• Lead purchasing process improvements through ERP optimization, reporting, automation, and data analysis to improve supplier performance and purchase efficiency

Qualified candidates will have
5 years of purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience using ERP systems (Syteline a plus).
Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills and knowledge of inventory management, lean manufacturing, and supply chain principles.
Education requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering or related field. May consider education and experience combined in lieu of degree.
