Overview
- The Platform Engineer designs, builds, and maintains the internal platforms and services that power F3 Intelligence’s analytical operations. This role focuses on API integrations, data ingestion, and cloud-native services that securely connect external data providers to internal tools, ensuring reliability, scalability, and compliance in support of federal programs.
- Design, implement, and maintain internal platform services that integrate external data sources into F3 Intelligence’s tools using APIs and automated pipelines.
- Build and maintain backend services and integration workflows using Python.
- Develop and operate cloud-native services within AWS, supporting compute, storage, networking, and security requirements.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, and secrets management for external API integrations.
- Build monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure platform reliability, performance, and auditability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, data inconsistencies, and service outages.
- Collaborate with intelligence, product, and operations teams to translate operational requirements into technical platform solutions.
- Support CI/CD workflows and deployment processes for platform services.
- Ensure all systems comply with internal security policies and federal standards for handling sensitive PII.
- Document platform architecture, integration patterns, and operational procedures.
- Operate fully remotely while maintaining availability during core business hours (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM Eastern).
- This is currently a 2-year contract position.
- Experience as a Platform Engineer, Backend Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role supporting production systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python for backend development, automation, and API integrations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, API Gateway).
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and integration pipelines.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to successfully undergo and maintain a federal Public Trust background investigation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Experience integrating third-party or proprietary data providers into internal platforms.
- Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Understanding of secure data handling, access controls, and audit logging in cloud environments.
- Experience supporting analytics, intelligence, or data-intensive applications.
- Prior experience in federal or government contracting environments.
