About the Role

As our Buyer / Replenishment, you’ll be the behind-the-scenes engine that ensures our fresh food production never skips a beat. By managing materials, packaging, and indirect supplies, you’ll directly support our ability to deliver safe, high-quality products—every single day. 

This position plays a key role in ensuring that F&S Fresh Foods maintains the right levels of materials—including packaging and indirect supplies—to keep our production lines running efficiently. This position manages day-to-day purchasing activities, monitors inventory, and works closely with internal teams and suppliers to maintain reliable supply while optimizing cost and working capital.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with a strong ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions. Requirements

Inventory & Replenishment:  Plan, monitor, and replenish inventory to support production and operational requirements. Generate and manage purchase orders based on usage, forecast, and planning parameters. Maintain accurate supplier and material data in the ERP/MRP system. Proactively manage lead times and safety stock levels to balance service and cost.

Supplier & Purchasing Management:  Serve as a key point of contact for suppliers in assigned categories, including packaging and indirect materials.  Confirm orders, track shipments, and address delivery or quality issues as needed. Partner with the Procurement and Operations teams to manage supplier performance and cost improvement initiatives. Support new product introductions, packaging changes, and supplier transitions.

Inventory Analysis & Optimization:  Analyze inventory levels, usage rates, and demand trends to identify optimization opportunities. Track and report on key metrics such as days on hand, excess, and obsolete materials. Develop and execute action plans to disposition obsolete or slow-moving inventory. Provide analytical insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and supply planning decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:  Collaborate with Production Planning, Operations, Sales, and Quality teams to ensure seamless material flow.  Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, supplier reliability, and process efficiency. Support procurement policy adherence and data integrity within ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Mathematics or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
• 0-3 years of experience in purchasing, replenishment planning, or materials management preferably in food manufacturing or a CPG environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data visualization).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards preferred.

Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
