Role Focus
The Mortgage Loan Officer role is centered on sales, relationship development, and business growth. This position is responsible for generating residential mortgage production by actively cultivating relationships both inside and outside the organization.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Originating residential mortgage loans within the Greater Capital Region footprint
- Building, maintaining, and expanding referral relationships with realtors, builders, community partners, and other centers of influence
- Serving as a trusted resource and advisor to borrowers throughout the mortgage financing process
- Developing familiarity and trust within assigned branch locations to complement externally sourced business
- Managing and growing an individually sourced mortgage pipeline rather than relying solely on internal referrals
Mortgage Products & Lending Capabilities
F&M Trust provides a comprehensive selection of lending solutions so Mortgage Loan Officers can meet a wide range of borrower needs, including:
- Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, PHFA, and ARM mortgage programs
- Construction, rehabilitation, bridge, and lot loans serviced by F&M Trust

- The ability to originate loans that may not be sellable on the secondary market
- Competitive home equity products in Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland that support first‑mortgage origination, including lot and bridge loans
Compensation & Benefits

- Full commission with a repayable draw

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated track record of originating home purchase loans

- Ability to independently generate mortgage business through self‑sourced leads and external relationships
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer‑service oriented approach
- Previous experience with personal computers and office equipment; Encompass experience is a plus
