FK Instrument is seeking a Quality Engineer to support our commitment to precision, performance, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and customers to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards.
This position plays a key role in new product introduction, supplier quality, and process improvement, helping drive a culture of quality-first manufacturing and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation in accordance with AIAG standards, including Process Flow, Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC for new product introductions.
- Partner with manufacturing, engineering, quality control, project management, suppliers, and customers to ensure product and process quality.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing and product quality issues using structured problem-solving methods and root cause corrective action (RCCA).
- Analyze process and product data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support and lead quality improvement initiatives across production and supply chain operations.
- Interface with customers regarding quality matters, including corrective actions and improvement efforts.
- Work with suppliers to ensure incoming materials and components meet quality standards.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and collaborate on corrective actions when targets are not met.
- Develop and track key quality performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process capability and drive improvement.
- Prepare quality reports and analysis for management and customer review.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
- 7 years of Quality Engineering experience in a precision machining environment.
- Experience with quality tools and data-driven methodologies such as SPC, Six Sigma, Process Capability, or Process Performance Analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to improving processes.
- Experience with continuous improvement or process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9000 quality systems.
- Additional Quality certifications (CQE, Six Sigma, etc.) are a plus.
