The way in which urban infrastructure is conceived, planned, and implemented, can have a profound effect on the communities it serves. Not only do those projects require careful planning and design, they also must be built to last. Position Overview:

The Support Specialist I is responsible for direct and remote end user support of software and hardware including mobility solutions. Applicants must be able to work efficiently and independently in a team environment to resolve assigned issues accurately and in a timely fashion to best support all levels of the end-user community.

 

Assigned Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose production problems; correct identified problems; work directly with management and end users to solve issues.
  • Deploy new hardware and software to users and troubleshoot existing issues on both PC and smartphone platforms.
  • Maintain documentation of solutions and proactively update users with latest information to avoid common issues.
  • Manage and support remote locations including on-site configuration of networking equipment to maintain reliable connectivity with the main office.
  • Manage user accounts including addition and removal of users, management of mailboxes, and configuration of voice-over-IP telephony system.
  • Maintain accurate backups of production systems
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis on computer science 
  • Two years PC support experience preferred

Knowledge of:

  • Helpdesk/trouble ticketing software in daily activities
  • Software deployment technologies like Microsoft SCCM
  • Windows 7/10 operating system knowledge, preferably Enterprise edition
  • Add/move/change user accounts in a Microsoft Active Directory environment
  • User mailbox maintenance of Microsoft Exchange environment
  • Supporting remote users with Remote Desktop and VPN technologies
  • Telephony systems, preferably using Shoretel VOIP system
  • Smartphone support and deployment, preferably iPhone and Maas360 MDM
  • Networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • PC hardware support including diagnosis and component replacement

 

Ability to:

  • Make decisions and resolve problems – Seek out information and data to evaluate, prioritize and formulate best solution or practice.
  • Demonstrate leadership and foster collaborative team approach – interacts well with front line and management
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships; work independently and demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong and varied knowledge in order to carry out assigned administrative tasks with the need for limited supervision in a dynamic environment.

Salary Range:

$50,000 - $60,000

F.H. Paschen reserves the right to offer the selected candidate or applicant an hourly rate or salary at an appropriate level to be set and determined by the employer that is commensurate with the applicant's qualifications, experience, education, skill training, certifications, or seniority.
