What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer position at F&B MFG LLC?
Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following; other duties may be assigned.
• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
• Reviews customer contracts and interprets requirements within 24 hours for repeat jobs and 72 hours for new jobs.
• Request changes/corrections as necessary.
• Supports compliance to customer’s special process requirements through testing and tracking of testing documentation.
• Perform engineering release for all jobs to fulfill the next ten working days and for any job for which we have raw material on hand. Maintain zero day late on releasing jobs.
• Support quoting process as required.
• Verify existing routers reflect current revision for new customer orders and/or identify impact of affected operations.
• Communicates with production control, tool design, manufacturing and quality assurance concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
• Maintain procurement texts and support purchasing by updating lead times on purchased items.
• Communicates with vendors to convey product specifications and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Support the development of manufacturing process by coordinating with production control, quality assurance, and manufacturing staff to develop jobs on shop floor.
• Develop and maintain work instructions including transferring to electronic format.
• Estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Requirements are entered into ERP system as a BOM.
• Communicates with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Maintains all required customer documentation. Reviews customer specification changes for impact to product and takes appropriate action.
• Performs MRB activities including supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions, dispositions, rework operations and jobs.
• Applies statistical methods to enhance and control future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Education and Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required.
• Must have at least five years of hands-on experience, preferably in the aerospace industry.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret work instructions.
• Computer skills should include proficiency with MS office products including Access.
