Project Engineers manage the flow of technical information between the management team, customers, and subcontractors. They manage RFI's, submittals, approvals, and shop drawing releases. Project Engineers identify and communicate possible delays and problems to the project management team.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Purchase materials.
- Schedule and coordinate vendors.
- Create project CPM schedule and modify it weekly or as needed. Update team with schedule.
- Proper use of company time tracking.
- Review all project related documentation prior to project starting. Submits RFI's on unknown issues.
- Set up project in related software programs.
- Assist with all construction administration as needed.
- Keep weekly meeting notes and track action items.
- Approve subcontractor billings and prepare monthly draws for each project.
- Coordinate and prepare the change order process entirely.
- Coordinate the submittal process in its entirety.
- Maintain project logs.
- Assist with project logistic plan, freight, and material coordination.
- Project Engineers must conduct themselves in a professional manner. Proper conduct and language are expected.
- Additional time outside regular business hours may be required to properly oversee project issues.
- Formal degree in Construction Management or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in reading engineering plans/drawings/details and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Ability to comprehend and discuss project schedules.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Spanish is a plus but is not required.
- No experience required.
- Experience with Vista software is a plus but not required.
