Join Our Manufacturing Team

Department: Manufacturing   |   Reports to: Engineering   |   Status: Non-Exempt

Do you notice the details others miss? Are you energized by solving problems and helping a team build better products? Join us as a Quality Control professional and help ensure every boat trailer part meets our standards—from incoming materials through final inspection. You’ll combine hands-on measurement, documentation, teamwork, and continuous improvement to protect product quality and keep production moving.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished parts for visual and dimensional accuracy.
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, tape measures, and other inspection tools to verify conformance.
• Read drawings, specifications, tolerances, inspection plans, and work orders.
• Document inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions in the Quality Management System.
• Coordinate containment, correction, or segregation when a quality issue is identified.
• Partner with production, engineering, suppliers, and leadership to investigate root causes and prevent repeat defects.
• Train and coach production employees on workmanship standards, measurement techniques, and quality safeguards.
• Support Lean practices, 5S, safety, first-pass yield, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a safety-minded, detail-oriented teammate who communicates clearly, follows through, and enjoys improving how work gets done.

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Two to five years of quality, manufacturing, or inspection experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read part drawings and specifications, including tolerances and GD&T where applicable.
• Experience with blueprint reading and precision measuring devices; CMM experience is a plus.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office; QMS or ERP experience is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

The Work

• Work regularly on the manufacturing floor around moving mechanical equipment and moderate noise.
• Sit, stand, walk, reach, handle inspection equipment, and occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends when needed.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred
• 2–5 years of quality, manufacturing, or inspection-related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings/specifications (including tolerances and GD&T where applicable)
• Proficiency in quality assurance and inspection methods, including reading blueprints and tape measures and operating protractors, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices (CMM experience a plus where used)
• Computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Office; experience with QMS/ERP systems preferred

Language Skills

• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructions, inspection plans, routers, correspondence, and records
• Ability to communicate clearly with production, engineering, and leadership in one-on-one and small group settings
• Must be able to communicate with other employees and give concise instructions on production needs, including machine operation safety, inventory paperwork, proper stacking/handling of parts, and quality safeguards

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
• Ability to solve problems involving a limited number of concrete variables in standardized situations and to support root cause/corrective actions
