Drafter - Solidworks and AutoCAD

$25 - $30 an hour
SUMMARY:
The CAD Drafter is responsible for breaking down information obtained from specifications, sketches, customer layout drawings and instructions furnished by others and convert the information into detailed drawings with section views and dimensions. Work will include performing a variety of mathematical calculations using standard procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Create Layout Drawings per drawing request
· Work with Sales teams on designs for customs
· Track customs on Customs Board
· Custom designs/drawings for Production use
· Verify –C customs meet design standards
· Source and place PO requests for specialized materials and hardware
· Knowledge of products
· Square footage for Powder Coat Customs
· Redline drawings for Engineering per requests for Production
· Source and place PO requests for Production tools
· Quote costing for custom requests from sales/customer
· Create BOM for Procurement and Material Handlers for Customs
· Request materials from DC for customs
· Coordinating customs within Production and FAB

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· AA degree in Mechanical Design or formal drafting program and 2+ years of drafting experience.
· Demonstrated knowledge of general manufacturing processes.
· Equivalent experience and capabilities to be considered in lieu of education.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively with groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures.
Ability to apply Engineering concepts.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to assimilate large quantities of numerical and verbal data.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
· Experienced with Microsoft Office, Sketch UP, Auto CAD Inventor, Autodesk Fusion 360 and Solid Edge or Solid Works.
· Strong working knowledge of ERP / MRP processes; Great Plains experience a plus but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to listen, hear and comprehend.
Ability to see, read, comprehend, and assess complex situations.
Ability to sit at a desk and function in cubed office environment.
Must be willing to work overtime as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work with others in department to produce practical designs.
Fast paced, multitasking environment.
Use of personal protective equipment may be required.
