Due to continued success, we are in need of a Utility Foreman to join our team.
Core Responsibilities
- Site Leadership: Direct and supervise crew of laborers and equipment operators. Schedule daily tasks and ensure all team members understand project goals.
- Safety Oversight: Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Coach employees daily and ensure proper trench shoring and traffic control is in place.
- Technical Execution: Read and interpret blueprints, site plans and grade stakes. Oversee the evacuation, laying of pipe, and backfilling processes.
- Resource Management: Coordinate the delivery of materials and the maintenance of heavy machinery (excavators, backhoes, loaders).
- Quality Control: Inspect work in progress to ensure it meets municipal codes, product specifications, and quality standards.
- Documentation: Maintain daily logs, track material usage, and report progress or delays to the Project Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Preferred candidates will have 5 years in underground utility construction with 2 years in a supervisory role or a proven track record of managing crews
- Technical knowledge should reflect a deep understanding of pipe-laying (PVC,RCP, DIP)
- Ability to pivot leadership styles from managing fast-paced residential laborers to coordinating with municipal engineers
- Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and OSHA regulations
- Ability to track man hours and change orders accurately utilizing Ipad technology
Why This Role is Unique
Unlike a standard foreman a Multi-Sector Utility Foreman must be a, "technical chameleon." You might be overseeing a 2-inch copper domestic water service for a luxury home in the morning and a 12-inch sewer main extension for the city in the afternoon.
Key Performance Indicator:
Success is measured by, "Zero Re-digs." While we understand that this is not always possible, we pride ourselves on passing municipal inspections on the first visit through rigorous pre-test protocols.
