Experienced Eyewear Consultant Needed!
Eyes on Dover is a new private practice in a growing area with an emphasis on creating a culture where patients and team members feel they are part of a family. Our eyewear consultant will be responsible for the selling, fitting, and dispensing of glasses and will initially be expected to answer phones, schedule patients, help with insurance verification, and other tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis while providing a great interpersonal experience for our patients. We are looking for a candidate that has experience in the optical or eyecare field, exceptional communication skills, is flexible as the office grows, has the ability to multitask, and most of all has the passion to be instrumental in helping to lay the foundation for our growing company.
Candidate requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the optical field
- State optical license is highly recommended
- Familiarity working with many vision plans including Eyemed, Spectera, Davis Vision, VSP, etc.
- Great interpersonal and customer service skills
- The availability to work full time including some Saturdays
- The passion to assist in other tasks that aid in office efficiency and growth of the practice
We provide training for our Eyewear Consultants in optical sales and, more specifically, on the products that we carry to ensure that you can provide each patient with the perfect match.
Job Responsibilities:
- Optical sales
- Stocking and inventory
- Ordering and checking in from the lab
- Troubleshooting
- Assisting in frame selection
- Adjustments on frames for patients
- Patient education on frame and lens options
- Answer phones to schedule patients and answer general questions
- Verify insurances and interpret benefits
- Have the willingness and flexibility to learn and adapt in a variety of situations
- Must have the desire and investment in the practice to help with promotion and growth
We are looking for applicant to be ready to start around the end of December/early January.
Compensation depends on experience and skill level.
