Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists in providing quality eye care to patients. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting preliminary eye exams and specialized diagnostic tests, preparing the patient to see the physician (medical history, etc.), and administering eye medications.
Duties:
- Perform preliminary eye exams, including measuring visual acuity and intraocular pressure.
- Perform key diagnostic tests such as Auto Refractions and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).
- Preparation of examination and treatment rooms.
- Administer eye medications as directed by the physician.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments.
- Assist with inventory management of medical supplies.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as Epic or similar systems is an asset.
