We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and a comprehensive understanding of eye health, vision correction, and ocular conditions. Our full scope practice includes vision exams, medical ocular evaluations, myopia control management (including ortho K), RGP fits, scleral lenses, dry eye management and more with the help of a tech. Seeking an optometrist open to learning and expanding their knowledge. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for conducting thorough eye examinations, diagnosing visual and ocular health issues, and providing personalized treatment plans. Your expertise will contribute to improving patients' quality of life through exceptional eye care services delivered in a professional and compassionate manner.
Duties
- Perform detailed eye examinations to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, and ocular health status using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and ocular infections.
- Prescribe corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses, tailored to individual patient needs.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document patient histories, examination findings, and treatment plans accurately.
- Educate patients on eye health maintenance, proper use of corrective devices, and preventive measures to protect vision.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals on complex cases requiring specialized intervention.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in ophthalmology, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and best practices in patient care.
Skills
- Proficiency with optical experience including fitting lenses and contact lens management.
- Excellent patient care skills combined with superior customer service abilities to foster trust and satisfaction.
- Ability to operate EMR/EHR systems efficiently for accurate record-keeping and documentation.
- Familiarity with medical terminology pertinent to eye health and general healthcare settings.
