Position Title: Production Operator

Location: KY 1

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follows established procedures and practices to produce quality products for the companys customers
• Operates the forklift, bagger, and other industrial equipment as required
• Bags and palletizes product according to instructions for bag type and weight
• Collects raw material and product samples as necessary
• Loads trucks, railroad cars, and containers with finished product some of which may require handling and hand stacking
• Maintains and rebuilds furnaces for production runs
• Assists in installing, removing, and maintaining equipment and buildings
• Completes routine housekeeping tasks (sweeping, mopping, waxing, cleaning of shower room facilities, emptying trash/scrap containers, painting and general clean up of plant site and grounds)
• May handle raw material or product manually under break down conditions
• Complies with company policies and the Code of Conduct
• Adheres to general and job specific safety, environmental, and quality guidelines/procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Experience - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• High School Graduate or GED preferred
• One or more years of work experience in an industrial environment
• Mechanical skills involving the use of basic tools
• Basic mathematical and chemistry skills
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manual
• Ability to safely work in a non-production line setting
• Ability to work in multi-level building and at times confined spaces
• Ability to work independently or in a team setting
• Ability to work rotating shift schedule as assigned including nights and weekends including flexibility to provide job coverage for co-workers in addition to regular schedule

Capable of lifting and moving 50 lbs on a daily basis

Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs on a periodic basis

Work Environment:

This individual works in a multi-level industrial environment requiring work in high precarious places via ladders and steps inside and outside the plant in all types of weather conditions. This individual is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and some hazardous chemicals. The plant utilizes high levels of electricity and individuals have to be safety minded in all activities. The work environment is dusty.

Moderate - Industrial noise levels characteristic of moving mechanical equipment
