Job Summary
The Network Planning Manager is responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing transportation networks for vehicle hauling operations. This role ensures efficient routing, capacity utilization, and cost-effective delivery of vehicles while maintaining high service levels. The ideal candidate combines logistics expertise, data analysis, and operational leadership to support a dynamic automotive transport environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new business opportunities with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, dealerships, and other automotive logistics clients.
- Develop and optimize vehicle transportation routes and network strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Coordinate with OEMs, dealerships, and logistics partners to maintain service standards
- Ensure alignment with DOT, safety, and regulatory requirements as they relate to network planning and operations.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and customer forums to promote capabilities and brand presence.
- Support strategic decisions such as facility location, capacity planning, and transportation network development.
- Forecast demand and align network capacity to meet customer and business growth requirements.
- Design, evaluate, and optimize the operational network, including terminals, routes, service lanes, and distribution hubs.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the transportation network
- Utilize analytical modeling and forecasting tools to ensure the network supports current and projected automotive production volumes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and transportation policies
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using KPIs such as on-time performance, cost per mile, and asset utilization.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in business development, network planning or related field
- 4-7 years of supervisory experience
- Bachelors Degree
- DOT industry experience and FMCSA knowledge
- Strong understanding of transportation networks, route optimization, and distribution strategies
- Experience with forecasting, demand planning, and capacity modeling
- Experience supporting or leading RFP/RFQ processes, including pricing strategy and solution design
- Ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders across Operations, Finance, IT, and Sales
- Proven track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present to executive leadership and external partners
Salary : $115,000 - $125,000
