Job Summary:
Extra Care Concerns is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented medical assistant to join our dedicated healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will play a key role in supporting both clinical and administrative operations to ensure efficient patient care and smooth clinic workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient examinations and procedures
- Take and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
- Administer injections, perform EKGs, and collect lab specimens as directed
- Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and instruments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule appointments and manage patient check-in/check-out processes
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to providers
- Verify insurance information and assist with prior authorizations or referrals
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and place orders when necessary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) program preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems is a plus
- Ability to multitask and remain professional in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
