- Manage complex litigation files for defense matters from case opening through settlement, trial, or closure.
- Support attorneys with drafting, proofreading, and filing pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and legal correspondence.
- Track court deadlines, litigation calendars, service dates, and filing requirements to ensure full procedural compliance.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files, including pleadings, exhibits, discovery materials, and insurance records.
- Assist with discovery by collecting documents, preparing production sets, summarizing records, and coordinating responses to opposing counsel.
- Review insurance claim materials and help track allocation of liability or payment percentages across multiple insurance carriers.
- Communicate with clients, insurers, experts, vendors, and internal legal team members regarding case status, documentation, and scheduling.
- Prepare case summaries, chronologies, damage overviews, and factual timelines for attorney review and litigation strategy discussions.
- Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including exhibit organization, witness files, binders, subpoenas, and logistics coordination.
- Conduct legal and factual research related to litigation issues, insurance matters, and industry-specific disputes involving aviation or aerospace clients.
- 3 or more years paralegal experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and or Paralegal Certificate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Westlaw
- knowledge of NY/NJ procedural rules
