Redeploying American Veterans (RAV) is a nonprofit (501c3) organization that has a big goal. Our goal is to eliminate Veteran Homelessness by 2029. North Carolina is home to over 750,000 veterans and has the greatest number of active-duty troops on the East Coast. RAV is determined to make an impact by creating an ecosystem approach to supporting our own local unsheltered Veterans in North Carolina and then all unsheltered Veterans in the USA.


We are operated by an incredible team of Veterans and Veteran family members in our office downtown Fayetteville, NC. If you are passionate about Veterans, we’re interested in speaking with you.


Role Description:

This is a volunteer role for a Grant Writer at Redeploying American Veterans (RAV). The Grant Writer will be responsible for grant writing, and fundraising activities. This is a flexible position allowing for work in office and work from home working approximately 10-15 hours weekly. We are working towards making this a paid position but it will start out as volunteer.


Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

·        Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the company or organization.

·        Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.

·        Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.

·        Submit proposals to grant coordinators for approval.

·        Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.

·        Maintain positive relationships with office team, fund providers, other stakeholders.

·        Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.

·        Other Development departmental duties, as assigned, including development event assistance and proofing of storytelling content, annual gratitude reports, and outreach materials.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in Grant Administration, Grant Writing, and Fundraising skills
  • Experience in Proposal Writing and Prospect Research skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
