Heavy Equipment Operator

Located in Brownsville, TX

The Equipment Operator is responsible for performing maintenance on ditches using a variety of construction and heavy machinery. Operator is proficient in the operation and maintenance of at least five (5) heavy equipment machines used in the construction and cleaning of drainage ditches, as well as installing pipe and box culverts.

$15.00/hr

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Operates specialized equipment, machinery, and vehicles such as construction vehicles, dozers, excavators (long reach), motor graders, backhoes, and dump trucks.

• Lays pipes, loads dirt and riprap, and performs all utilities work.

• Performs proper maintenance of ditches, such as removing debris, litter, etc.

• Clears the spoil off of ditch banks, removes debris, lays pipes.

• Excavates and shapes drainage ditches.

• Maintains all equipment used in clean and general operational condition.

• Inspects equipment and reports any equipment in need of maintenance or repair.

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

1. Two (2) years of equipment operator experience.

2. High School Diploma or equivalent.

3. Bilingual (preferred).

4. Valid Class ''A'' Texas Driver's License (extensive experience with verifiable references may be substituted).
