Join our team! Hiring in Conway AR, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing and maintaining all accounts payable functions. • Receive, review, verify, and process vendor invoices for payment.
• Match invoices with purchase orders, receiving documentation, and supporting approvals.
• Verify proper account coding and allocate expenses to the appropriate HUD programs, grants, and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and process weekly accounts payable batches and electronic payments.
• Maintain vendor files, including W-9 forms, insurance certificates, and required documentation.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Respond professionally to vendor inquiries regarding payment status.
• Monitor payment due dates to ensure timely payments and avoid late fees.
• Process employee reimbursements in accordance with agency policies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
• Prepare accounts payable schedules and supporting documentation for auditors.
• Maintain organized financial files and records in accordance with HUD record retention requirements.
• Assist with annual Form 1099 preparation and reporting.
• Maintain compliance with HUD regulations, federal requirements, state laws, procurement standards, and Authority policies.
Education or Experience
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of accounts payable or accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with governmental, nonprofit, or public housing accounting is preferred.
• Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel required.
• Knowledge of HUD financial regulations and procurement requirements is preferred.
• Strong mathematical, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Possession of a valid Arkansas Driver's License.
