CNC Laser Operator/Programmer

Location: North Haven, CT

Pay rate: $24-29/hr

Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Cincinnati Incorporated CL7 laser systems to manufacture precision metal components in accordance with detailed blueprints and specifications.
• Interpret technical drawings and engineering documents to ensure accurate fabrication and adherence to design requirements.
• Perform routine CNC laser maintenance, including calibration, cleaning, and tool changes, to maintain optimal machine performance.
• Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments, along with visual checks, to verify dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Support material handling operations using forklifts and cranes for sheet metal and fabricated parts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on fabrication processes such as welding, CNC machining (milling and turning), stamping, plasma cutting, EDM, and press brake forming.

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines within a metal fabrication environment.
• Strong working knowledge of CNC programming and CAD/CAM software systems.
• Skilled in reading complex blueprints and accurately interpreting GD&T specifications.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in welding, CNC machining (milling and turning), stamping presses, plasma cutting, EDM processes, press brake operations, and use of hand tools.
• Familiar with safety protocols for operating forklifts, cranes, and other heavy equipment.
• Solid mathematical skills for precise measurements and manufacturing calculations.
• Knowledgeable in sheet metal properties and fabrication techniques to ensure high-quality production.
• Experienced in performing quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
