Is This You?- Do you insist on a formal safety inspection of your area every shift—and more often when conditions change?
- Can you quickly isolate faults with portable test gear and internal diagnostics, then return instrumentation to spec?
- Are you comfortable installing PLCs, SCR drives, recorders, and indicating instruments during upgrades and rebuilds?
- Will you keep housekeeping tight to eliminate slip, trip, and fall hazards?
- Are you prepared to operate mobile equipment once you’re MSHA task-trained and cleared?
- Inspect, troubleshoot, service, and repair electrical, electronic, and instrumentation assets across the site.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine checks on controls, recorders, gas analyzers, and automatic weight devices.
- Replace faulty components to restore accuracy, reliability, and process integrity.
- Support new construction and retrofits by installing control hardware and commissioning systems.
- Build and maintain your required tool set within 90 days of hire (tool list provided).
- Execute work in full compliance with MSHA, federal and state regulations, and company policies.
- Electrical strength and troubleshooting mindset.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation—or strong aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic computer literacy with the ability to pick up controls programming concepts.
- Reliable attendance; able to self-direct and also follow instructions effectively.
- 4 years as an electrician in mining or heavy industry.
- Use of electrical meters, including megger testing on motors and cables.
- Troubleshooting AC/DC motor starters, VFDs, and power distribution.
- Hands-on with CEM systems; pressure/flow transmitters; RTDs; thermocouples.
Standard weeks with rotating shifts.
