Industrial Powder Coating Technician

Walk into a clean, energetic shop where precision and pace go hand in hand. You’ll review work orders and drawings, set up your booth, prep metal parts, and apply durable powder coatings that stand up to real-world use. Your eye for detail keeps color, texture, and finish consistent from the first part to the last, while your commitment to safety supports a culture that puts people first.

• Prepare metal components by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primers or treatments with both hand and power tools.
• Set up and operate powder application equipment — electrostatic spray guns and airless paint sprayers — to deliver uniform, high-quality coverage.
• Use conventional spray techniques and manual finishing methods to achieve smooth, consistent coatings per project specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and process instructions to ensure accurate setup, color selection, and application.
• Move and stage materials safely with forklifts and other handling equipment, following all PPE and facility safety protocols.
• Perform visual color checks and quality inspections to verify coating uniformity, color accuracy, and surface finish standards.
• Maintain a tidy work area, complete basic equipment upkeep, and document production activities with accuracy.

• Hands-on experience in industrial painting, powder coating, or a manufacturing setting (highly desirable).
• Mechanical aptitude; exposure to machining, auto body repair, or construction painting/surface prep is a plus.
• Comfort using hand tools, power tools, spray guns, and respirators; strict adherence to PPE.
• Solid basic math for measuring materials and estimating coverage areas.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices, including respiratory protection and PPE use.
• Confidence interpreting production orders and technical drawings.
