Auditor. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with
federal employment eligibility verification requirements. This role focuses on auditing Forms I‑9 and
E‑Verify cases for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness; identifying errors or compliance risks;
assisting with corrective actions; and producing clear, actionable audit reports. The position
supports the organization’s legal and regulatory obligations as a multi‑state employer and serves as
a key contributor to ongoing work authorization compliance efforts.
Responsibilities include reviewing both paper and electronic Forms I-9 and E-Verify records,
evaluating compliance with applicable requirements, and preparing comprehensive audit reports
that clearly summarizes findings and recommendations.
Express Employment International believes in the value of in-person collaboration to support
teamwork, creativity and connection. Employees in this position are expected to work a four (4) day
in-office schedule, with the flexibility to work remotely one (1) day each week, based on business
and department needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct thorough audits of Form I-9 documents, verifying completeness, accuracy, and compliance with federal regulations.
- Review E-Verify cases to ensure proper submission, resolution, and adherence to timelines and procedures.
- Identify and report errors, inconsistencies, or potential risks in work authorization documentation.
- Track and document audit results, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings to management teams.
- Stay current with changes in employment verification laws and regulations across multiple states.
- Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions and process improvements based on audit outcomes.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- Work authorization or immigration law experience
- Paralegal certification preferred
- Electronic Form I-9 software experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of Form I‑9 and E‑Verify requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify compliance risks
- Ability to document findings clearly and produce professional audit reports
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
