We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant / Front Desk professional to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient service, support clinical operations, and ensure smooth front desk functions within a busy medical practice. This role requires a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient care, and administrative support. Experience in urgent care and outpatient clinic settings a plus.. Duties
- Greet and check-in patients efficiently at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Maintain good attendance
- Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and update electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately
- Assist with patient intake processes including recording vital signs and updating medical histories
- Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up visits using clinic management software. Check in and check out patients.
- Prepare exam rooms and assist healthcare providers with procedures such as medication administration.
- Support clinical staff with tasks such as taking vital signs. Perform clinical and administrative duties to support healthcare providers
- Manage phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide excellent patient service throughout their visit
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with administrative duties including filing, documentation, and managing clinic supplies
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care delivery
Requirements
- Prior experience in healthcare settings such as urgent care, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable
- Experience working with EHR systems in urgent care preferred
- Have a working knowledge of communicating with pharmacies, specialists, scheduling and verifying insurances.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for patient service and team collaboration
- Ability to handle sensitive information professionally while maintaining confidentiality
- Prior experience in outpatient settings like primary care and urgent care is advantageous
