FUNCTIONAL ROLE:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for guiding projects through Detailing and Production within budget, on time, and with a high degree of client satisfaction. The basic function of the Project Manager is to provide the necessary planning, organization, and information management to effectively manage the scope, schedule, and budget of a project.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: bachelor’s degree, Concentration in Operations, Engineering or Project Management preferred. Experience may substitute for education.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Must have high ethical standards to be able to deal with company confidential reports and information.
- Must use organizational, analytical, and observational skills to coordinate and control projects consisting of Museum grade exhibits.
- Familiarity with NPS Exhibit Planning, Design, and Fabrication Specifications.
- Familiarity with Smithsonian Exhibits’ Guide to Exhibit Development.
- Knowledge of custom woodworking, mill working, cabinetmaking and finishing.
- Must have sound mathematical skills.
- Must be able to read construction drawings and communicate ideas and instructions.
- Must have excellent computer skills, proficiency in Office 365, Gantt chart Scheduling Software.
- Auto CAD experience preferred but not required.
- Must have the ability to organize, track and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Understand and manage client RFI systems.
- Must be detail oriented, with excellent organizational skills, capable of making appropriate decisions to effectively manage projects in a productive and efficient manner.
- Must be capable of meeting realistic, agreed upon departmental goals set by management and conveying progress both verbally and written to meet deadlines for reports and preparation of the required paperwork.
- Must be able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.
- Must be a self starter and be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Good leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude, high degree of energy and demonstrated willingness to take on new and challenging projects
- Ability to read drawings
- Knowledge of parts assembly and construction for woodworking, metal fabrication, laminating, painting, graphic production, audio-visual, and electrical installations.
- Great interpersonal and communications skills
- Good time management skills
- Comfortable with direct client interaction
Working Conditions:
- Required to work in a variety of environments including office, jobsite, and fabrication shop.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE
- The Project Manager is measured by the successful completion of the contractual scope for each project, on time, within budget and with client satisfaction. Within budget is defined as meeting the labor hours, material cost and subcontract budgets as set forth in the project estimate.
- Consistency and thoroughness of project documentation.
- Successful communication with clients, designers, subcontractors, and internal resources.
- Timeliness and dependability with regard to assignments and submissions.
- Compliance with company policies and procedures
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work directly with client and designer to finalize scope, schedule and budget
- Work closely with Detailer to control Project Scope, Budget and Schedule
- Manage the overall Project Schedule
- Oversee production of exhibit in all fabrication departments
- Review and approve final produced exhibit elements
- Final review and approval of project with client and designer
Education and Work Experience:
- 5 years experience in the Exhibit Industry
- Degree in Engineering or Management a plus

Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
