Responsibilities
- Create and manage Source Package documents.
- Support Mopar Purchasing to review suppliers’ technical submissions and select suppliers.
- Design and release new Accessories for Body and Exterior commodities.
- Support component supplier development activities as needed.
- Support component and vehicle prototype efforts to demonstrate early proof of concept.
- Host weekly engineering development meetings with the supplier and Mopar team members.
- Lead vehicle and system-level testing for assigned projects.
- Approve Engineering PPAP documents (Drawings, Dimensional, Validation).
- Track and manage projects for on-time launch.
- Lead change management of assigned components as needed.
- Manage root cause analysis of assigned quality issues, tracked through GIMs.
- Manage Cost Savings initiatives of assigned components (technical and commercial).
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must have proven experience in designing exterior automotive accessories using metal materials, including metal structures, brackets, and exterior sheet-metal assemblies. GD&T knowledge is a plus.
