Job Summary: Data Center Operations & Support Engineer
- Perform physical hardware deployments, upgrades, and configurations of servers, network devices, PDUs, and KVM switches.
- Monitor and maintain data center servers, mainframes (IBM Z10), system interfaces, and communication utilities to ensure high availability.
- Manage daily and monthly tape backup operations and oversee offsite storage processes.
- Track and maintain accurate inventory records of hardware assets using ServiceNow or similar platforms.
- Provide tier-1/2 onsite, phone, and remote support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
- Image, deploy, maintain, and upgrade end-user hardware, software applications, and operating systems.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and hardware/software issues; escalate complex issues to higher-level teams or vendors as needed.
- Manage Move, Add, Change, Install (MACI) requests and perform preventative maintenance and repairs for defective parts.
- Maintain operational accuracy and efficiency in a 24/7 data center environment, including flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends.
- Utilize knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS, Office Suite, network cabling standards, and hardware diagnostic tools.
- (Preferred) Provide supervisory support for candidates in senior operational roles.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies for ticket management and data center operations.
