Our client is seeking a Direct Hire 1st shift Blade Maker to join their team in Auburn, MA.
Starting Rate: $19.18-$24.94/Hr.
Job Summary:
The Blade Assembler is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines to manufacture products from metal and non-metal materials. This position requires following blueprints, sketches, and work instructions to produce precision components. The role involves working independently, ensuring product quality, and adhering to safety and operational standards.
Job Duties:
- Independently plan, lay out, set up, and operate blade-making equipment and processes.
- Perform all processing operations in the Blade Department, including:
- Punching, shearing, drilling, skiving, bevel grinding, flattening, routing, slitting, riveting, finishing, and assembly.
- Ensure all products are produced within specifications and comply with applicable procedures, work instructions, drawings, and quality documents.
- Pull coil stock for production orders.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Be fully responsible for the quality of your work.
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Work overtime as required and assist in achieving departmental and company goals.
- Participate in team initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in all blade assembly processes.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Experience with mechanical lifting devices (e.g., cranes, hoists, power lifts).
- Familiarity with basic shop mathematics and manufacturing technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Understanding of production flow, order of operations, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as:
- Tape measures
- Micrometers
- Vernier calipers
- Ability to control equipment to meet drawing dimensions and tolerances.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of solving practical problems independently.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Manual dexterity sufficient for handling small parts and components.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 40 lbs. unassisted.
