Job Title: Kitchen Prep Cook (Part-Time, On-Call)
Location: Ventura & Santa Barbara, CA
Pay Rate: $18–$20 hourly (depending on experience)
We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated individuals to join our team as Kitchen Prep Cooks. This role supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, maintaining organization, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for efficient food production. This is a part-time, event-based position working both in kitchen settings and at offsite catered events.

(include but are not limited to):
- Follow daily prep lists to execute food preparation, including making sauces, cooking items, and prepping ingredients.
- Measure and portion ingredients; wash produce; chop vegetables; and cut meat and poultry according to recipes.
- Set up and organize workstations with all necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas at all times.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, including proper food handling and storage.
- Monitor time and temperature controls and adhere to safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely preparation.
- Assist with offsite events, including cooking and plating appetizers, salads, entrées, and desserts.
- Receive deliveries, organize storage areas, and restock supplies as needed.
- Track inventory levels, rotate stock, and notify management when supplies are low.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to management immediately.
- Support chefs and team members with additional kitchen tasks as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, adaptable, and team-oriented.
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to cleanliness and food safety.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily responsibilities.
- Professional and courteous communication with team members and guests.
- Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance required.
- Food Handlers Card required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. individually and up to 60 lbs. with team assistance.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen and event environment.
