ESS Manufacturing LLC - Purchasing Agent/Buyer
This role spends time away from the office desk. Whoever accepts the position must be willing to use a forklift. Receiving and tracking inventory will play a large factor for this role. The following is a list of responsibilities and expectations for this role (this list is not comprehensive).
Purchasing
- Create purchase orders using NetSuite
- Update vendor lists to keep them current, establish relationships with our suppliers
- Track and compare prices for often used items, searching comp prices weekly
- Negotiate the best pricing possible
- Learn all products and materials we use
- Order necessary materials to complete future orders, ensuring we never run out of product or order in excess
- Be experience with computers and especially skilled with Excel and NetSuite
Receiving and Inventory control
- Verify all received materials
- Be involved with year end inventory counts
- Look for alternate sources for products and competitive pricing
- Verify that all materials are received correctly in NetSuite and all POs are executed properly
- Must be able to competently use a forklift and a Combilift
- May need to drive to local business for supplies
- Directly work with the Inventory Manager to verify inventory levels, spot checking weekly.
Supply Room
- Maintain tools and supplies for installation and repair departments
- Distribute tools and supplies to personnel
- Use requisition forms for all departments
- Standardize the tool room, both in natural flow and standardize processes
- Keep the tool room organized and clean
Shipping Department
- Organize pickups and shipments, both foreign and domestic
- Work with the Shipping Supervisor to ensure accurate deliveries
Qualified Applicants Must:
- Have 3 years or more of Purchasing experience
- Have a clean and valid Florida Driver's license
- Be organized in all aspects of the position
- Be willing to unload trucks (forklift) and organize the stockyard
- Have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE and be able to follow directions/instructions
- Be able to use critical thinking to solve problems
- Be comfortable with computers and software
- Be able to skillfully drive a forklift
- Be safety minded
