What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Sales Manager | Motion Control position at Expert Executive Recruiters (EER Global)?
Regional Sales Manager – Motion Control | Northeast US
Our client is a global leader in intelligent motion technology, designing the world's most compact, high-efficiency servo drives and motion controllers. Their solutions power the most demanding applications across robotics, semiconductor manufacturing, medical devices, and industrial automation — wherever precision, reliability, and performance cannot be compromised.
With a strong growth trajectory and an expanding North American presence, they are looking for a high-performing Regional Sales Manager to own and develop the Northeast US territory.
The Opportunity
This is a hunter-first role for a technically credible sales professional who knows the motion control landscape and is ready to build meaningful relationships with OEMs, system integrators, and value-added resellers. You'll have the backing of a world-class engineering team, a product portfolio that speaks for itself, and real autonomy to shape your territory strategy.
Territory: Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Canadian provinces east of Quebec.
What You'll Do
- Drive revenue growth across the territory — targeting 20% year-over-year — through a balanced focus on expanding existing accounts and winning new business.
- Develop and execute a territory business plan that identifies high-value opportunities, prioritizes prospects, and maps a clear path to sustainable growth.
- Own the full sales cycle: qualify leads, develop strategic proposals tailored to each customer's application, deliver compelling technical presentations, and close.
- Manage and grow relationships with OEM and VAR accounts, acting as a trusted long-term partner rather than a transactional vendor.
- Maintain rigorous pipeline discipline in Salesforce — tracking activity, opportunities, and forecasts so you always know where you stand and where to focus.
- Collaborate with the applications engineering team to support pre-sales technical evaluations and ensure customers get solutions that truly fit their needs.
- Feed market intelligence back to the business: emerging customer requirements, competitive activity, and application trends that inform product and go-to-market strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer sites — you're the face of the brand in the Northeast.
What We're Looking For
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
- 4 years of direct sales experience in motion control, servo systems, or closely adjacent automation technology.
- Solid working knowledge of servo drives, motion controllers, and automation system architecture.
- A genuine hunter mentality: self-motivated, persistent, and energised by finding and winning new business.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time across the territory.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Salesforce CRM or equivalent pipeline management tools.
- Familiarity with mechatronics, embedded software, or system-level integration in demanding applications (semiconductor, medical, robotics).
- Established network of contacts in the Northeast US automation or robotics ecosystem.
- Demonstrated track record of consistent quota attainment and YOY growth in a technical sales role.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission — strong OTE for top performers.
- Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
- A genuinely differentiated product portfolio backed by a globally recognised brand — this is a premium sell, not a commodity fight.
- Real career development opportunities in a company that promotes from within and is growing fast.
- A collaborative, engineering-led culture where your voice is heard and market feedback drives product decisions.
