The Role
The Manager / Senior Manager, Strategic Finance will be based at the Arlington, VA headquarters and will support financial underwriting, capital structuring analysis, and transaction execution across a U.S. renewable energy platform. This role works across development, M&A, and project finance initiatives, providing rigorous modelling, risk evaluation, and investment analysis for utility-scale solar and storage projects, primarily in PJM markets.
The successful candidate will partner closely with the Vice President, Strategic Finance and cross-functional teams to ensure disciplined underwriting and high analytical standards. This is a high-exposure role with direct interaction with senior leadership and investment committees.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead detailed financial modelling and underwriting for utility-scale solar and storage projects, including IRR, NPV, capital stack structuring, and tax credit optimization (ITC/PTC)
- Support project finance and M&A processes through valuation analysis, sensitivity modelling, and diligence support
- Analyze and pressure-test financing structures, including debt sizing, sensitivity analysis, and tax equity scenarios
- Conduct scenario analysis across merchant exposure, power price assumptions, interconnection risks, cost escalation, and capital market volatility
- Partner with development and M&A teams to evaluate project economics and identify value optimization opportunities
- Prepare investment memoranda and executive presentations for internal investment committees and senior leadership
- Supervise and mentor junior analysts, maintaining high standards in modelling structure, documentation, and analytical rigor
- Contribute to portfolio-level analytics and capital allocation decisions across the U.S. platform
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in investment banking, infrastructure/project finance, renewable energy development, or Big 4 transaction advisory (energy/infrastructure focus preferred)
- Advanced financial modelling expertise including project finance structures, tax credit mechanics, return metrics, and sensitivity analysis
- Strong understanding of U.S. renewable energy markets; PJM market experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience supporting transaction execution, financing processes, or acquisition diligence
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; ability to translate complex analysis into clear executive communication
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA or CFA a plus

Salary : $130,000 - $165,000
