Our client, a precision manufacturing and engineering company serving the aerospace and defense industries, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Spartanburg, SC.
They will support process optimization, equipment performance, and product development within a high-precision production environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in CNC programming, manufacturing processes, and industrial engineering, with experience in high-precision manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and assembly line operations to improve efficiency and product quality
- Program and troubleshoot CNC machines, including 5-axis CNC programming using Mastercam, ensuring reliable and unattended operation
- Conduct root cause analysis to resolve production, quality, or equipment issues and implement corrective actions
- Design and support tooling, fixtures, and fabrication processes required for manufacturing operations
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives including Lean manufacturing and ISO 9001 process improvements
- Support robotics integration, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies
- Perform equipment maintenance, calibration, and upgrades to maximize machine uptime and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on production planning, process development, and factory layout improvements
- Support quality control technologies such as vision inspection systems for defect detection
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards within manufacturing and fabrication environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, and tooling design
- Experience with CNC programming (CAM, GD&T) and Mastercam, including 5-axis machining
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and ISO 9001 standards
- Experience performing root cause analysis using structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone)
- Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment producing small precision components.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional manufacturing environment
Salary : $85,000 - $120,000
