Validation Engineer

Our client, a leader in semiconductor and processor technology, is seeking a Validation Engineer 3 to join their team. As a Validation Engineer 3, you will be part of a highly technical team supporting processor silicon interface validation and power management. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for innovation, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Validation Engineer

Location: Austin, TX

Pay Range:$50/hr - $58/hr

What's the Job?

• Develop comprehensive test plans for processor interface validation, focusing on electrical and functional aspects.
• Execute electrical & functional test plans using hardware and software validation tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Debug electrical and functional issues in new processors, providing detailed analysis and solutions.
• Contribute to platform definition and review of platform designs used in silicon validation processes.
• Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced engineers and technicians in processor validation activities.
  
  
  

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 5-7 years of related experience, or Master’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proven expertise in developing and executing platform-level electrical and functional test plans.
• Experience with platform-level electrical characterization of processor I/O interfaces is preferred.
• Strong skills in debugging processor & PC platform I/O interfaces, reading schematics, and layout documentation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and management.
