Job Title: Lab/Test Engineer 1

Location: Redmond, WA (Building 35)

Duration: 3 months (Yes, full 18-month tenure required as extension is highly likely.)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week (No OT)

Pay Rate Range: $25 to $28/hr

Candidate Requirements

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree/Certification: No degree required (Bachelor’s in Computer Science preferred).
  • Disqualifiers: Lack of relevant experience.
  • Preferred Background:
  • Strong networking experience and group policy management.
  • Experience with Chef is highly preferred.
  • Candidates with home labs or Docker experience will stand out.
  • Nice to have: Ruby, TypeScript, or C# experience.
  • Performance Metrics: Quality of work and timely delivery. Top 3 Must-Have Hard Skills
  • Programming: Minimum 2 years of experience in any programming language (Python or TypeScript preferred).
  • Networking: Minimum 2 years of experience with basic networking knowledge.
  • Device Management: Minimum 2 years of experience managing devices, particularly with Microsoft operating systems; familiarity with other OS is a plus.


Job Responsibilities

  • Perform repeatable testing procedures and processes.
  • Verify triggers, stored procedures, referential integrity, and hardware/system specifications.
  • Interpret and modify code (JavaScript, C#, Ruby, Python, SQL, etc.).
  • Write automation test scripts for device setup.


Required Skills

  • Application-level configuration skills.
  • Experience with batch files and Windows command-line utilities.
  • Software testing experience in web-based or Windows client/server environments.
  • Experience in development or database administration using Microsoft products.
  • Ability to read/write at least one programming language (C#, C/C , SQL, etc.).
  • Strong software QA and testing aptitude.
  • Knowledge of personal computer hardware is a plus.


Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred.
  • Experience: 0–2 years in software testing or device lab environments.
