This individual works closely with maintenance and engineering teams to develop, implement, and sustain process improvement projects.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Partner with Production/Manufacturing/Quality to support programs that ensure the production of safe, high-quality products.
- Analyze and resolve electrical issues, performing troubleshooting and continuous improvement on analog/digital control systems, PLC programming, HMI systems, and network communications.
- Assist maintenance personnel with repairs and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Document and implement work order procedures for new equipment and technology, including full documentation of all system modifications.
- Install, maintain, and calibrate process control instruments (both pneumatic and electronic).
- Repair, clean, and test instruments, switches, flow tubes, and gauges to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Track software versions and licenses, manage equipment and service contracts, and ensure compatibility of new components with existing system architecture.
- Participate in training to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Follow all safety procedures, using proper protective equipment and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
- Take reasonable precautions to protect employees, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or college coursework in electronics or controls preferred.
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience with PLC controls, logic circuits, or similar electronic systems required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with PLC and HMI control systems required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and work instructions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain procedures and processes.
- Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry and perform basic calculations such as percentages and proportions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret diagrams, written instructions, and technical data.
- Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to sit, and occasionally stand, walk, reach, or use hands to handle tools and controls.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Requires close vision for computer and equipment work.
- The work environment is typically moderate in noise level and may involve exposure to production areas.
