Substitute Teacher / Educational Assistant
Location: Nashville, TN 37214
Payrate : $20 per hrs on w2
We are seeking dependable and motivated Substitute Teachers / Educational Assistants to support daily classroom operations and maintain a positive learning environment. This position works under the direct supervision of the educational administrative team and is responsible for implementing teacher lesson plans, supervising students, and assisting with instructional and classroom activities.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, professional, and committed to supporting student success while ensuring a safe and productive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Report to the educational office upon arrival each morning and after student dismissal each afternoon.
- Follow teacher lesson plans and assume classroom responsibilities in the absence of the regular teacher or educational assistant.
- Maintain established classroom routines and instructional activities.
- Supervise students throughout the school day and promote a positive, respectful learning environment.
- Perform assigned duties, which may include lunchroom, bus, hallway, playground, or other supervisory responsibilities.
- Become familiar with school emergency procedures and student medical needs as outlined in classroom substitute materials.
- Manage classroom behavior and report significant disciplinary concerns to school administrators.
- Support students in completing assignments and classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate attendance and classroom records as required.
- Protect the confidentiality of student information and comply with all school policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and staff to ensure continuity of instruction and student support.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two years of college coursework preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred (non-certified candidates welcome to apply).
- Previous experience working with children is preferred.
- Experience supporting students with special needs is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with common educational technology.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom settings and grade levels.
