Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage our financial records, ensure accurate accounting practices, and support the overall financial health of our organization. Your expertise in various accounting software and systems will help us maintain compliance with accounting standards while streamlining our financial processes.
Duties
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (Sage), and other financial systems (Excel & Access).
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Process payroll accurately and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare financial reports, including statements and summaries that support management decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and maintain proper documentation for all transactions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries.
- Proficiency in accounting software in Sage or the ability to learn.
- Experience with governmental accounting, nonprofit accounting, or corporate accounting is a plus.
- Strong skills in spreadsheets, bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, account analysis, and financial report writing.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with GAAP standards and technical accounting concepts is essential.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks accurately under deadlines.

Pay: $22.50 - $25.00 per hour
