Expanded Learning Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Summer Camp Site Coordinators to manage and lead our high-quality summer enrichment program for Elk Grove Unified School District students (TK-6th grade) across 4 sites. This is a seasonal, full-time administrative role requiring strong leadership, excellent communication, and a passion for child development and educational excellence. This is a hands on, exciting program. High Energy Individuals only!
Dates of Service: May 18, 2026 - July 31, 2026
Training Occurs between May 18 and June 5th. Camp starts June 8, 2026
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday (shifts between 7:00 am - 6:00 pm). Requires attendance at all school events, meetings, and trainings (up to 2 weekend days and 3 evenings for training).
Pay: $28.00 per hour
Reports to: Expanded Learning Academy Program Director
General Position Description: The Site Coordinator is the on-site manager responsible for overseeing all camp staff (Student Engagement Coaches and Para Educators), program operations, and ensuring the camp adheres to both Elk Grove Unified School District and Expanded Learning Academy’s standards. You will be the crucial link in providing exceptional enrichment opportunities, building relationships with families and creating an incredible summer experience for children, staff and stakeholders alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Leadership & Management: Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate camp staff. Foster teamwork, delegate tasks, and ensure adherence to schedules, policies, and a high standard of conduct.
- Program Planning & Implementation: Develop, implement, and oversee all daily program schedules, activities, and curriculum (including art, drama, science, sports, teambuilding, cooking & music). Confidently administer ELA’s core curricula.
- Health & Safety: Ensure a safe, secure, clean, and healthy educational/camp environment for all students and staff, maintaining all EGUSD and ELA criteria (supervision, ratios, health, and safety).
- Student Supervision & Support: Ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of students (TK-6th grade). Provide guidance and mentorship, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Family & Community Engagement: Communicate regularly with parents, maintain responsive relationships, and facilitate family involvement opportunities. Serve as a liaison between the school site, families, and district leadership.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage daily operations, enrollment, attendance, record-keeping, finances (budgeting/purchasing), and ensure timely completion of all required reports and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree with a focus (35 units) in Child Development, Early Childhood Education (ECE), Recreation, Education, or a related field.
- 4 or more years of working experience with Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 6th-grade students in an education or after-school program.
- 2 or more years of staff supervisory experience, leading teams and implementing student-focused programming.
- Skills: Demonstrated consistency in a positive attitude, honesty, integrity, and grace. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of program planning, curriculum development, and youth development principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Requirements: Must possess (or be willing to obtain) Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification. Must be Drug and Alcohol Free and have reliable transportation.
- References: 3 positive references from past employers.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- 5 or more years of Expanded Learning program leadership experience.
- 3 or more years of experience in developing curriculum and coordinating program activities.
- 1 or more years of EXL Site Coordinator experience with EGUSD or partner programs.
