Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and returns
- Provide product demonstrations and upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure products are appealing and accessible
- Assist with inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and supporting product replenishment
- Handle customer inquiries professionally via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Support team members with supervising tasks when needed, including training new staff or guiding less experienced associates
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash register operations for efficient cashiering
- Prior supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities within the team
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and retail math calculations
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and effective communication abilities
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Experience in grocery store or retail sales environments is preferred for understanding store operations
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and product demos enhances overall store presentation
