What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher - Drayage/Air position at ExoGlobe LLC?
ExoGlobe LLC is located in Compton, CA
We are looking for qualified individuals with knowledge of drayage and/or airport to join our growing team.
We have a fleet of 15 trucks of all different sizes and service the Greater LA area.
Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and engaged.
Responsibilities
GENERAL
- Answering customer emails and phone calls in a timely manner.
- Working together as a team to service our customers in delivering cargo.
- Organizing drivers on the day to day and for the week so that we are successfully staffed
- Being organized with paper work and routes so that we are able to plan for the day and week ahead
- Working under a deadline to successfully service our customers.
- Organizing pick up and drop off orders
DRAYAGE
- Knowledge of websites such as eModal and TermPoint to successfully make appointments in the port and return empty containers.
- Inputting new containers into our designated tracker and updating it so that our team is all on the same page.
- Communicating with customers own when their containers are ready and when appointments are scheduled.
- Following up with different terminals and steamship lines so that we are pulling containers before their last free days.
- Problem solving issues when arising and being able to pivot.
AIR
- Following up with airlines to make sure that cargo is ready and all clearances are posted to make sure to maximize time and diesel.
- Communicating with customers in a timely manner via email/phone about their cargo.
- Organizing drivers for import and export orders
- Solving problems at the airport when they arise ie. ISC and different types of clearances
- Understanding how air freight works and how quickly it moves.
Qualifications
- Basic Computer Skills ie. email, typing, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Bilingual preferred - Spanish
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- At least 2 years of experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Problem solving skills
- Organizational and multitasking skills
- Works well under pressure
