Responsibilities
- Provide professional barbering services including haircuts, shaves, beard trims, and grooming consultations using tools such as straight razors and scissors.
- Perform hair styling, coloring, extensions, and threading to meet client preferences and enhance their appearance.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene in all workstations and tools in accordance with health regulations.
- Engage with clients through effective communication, understanding their needs, offering product recommendations, and upselling retail items like hair care products or styling tools.
- Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using salon software such as MINDBODY to maximize client flow and minimize wait times.
- Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, checking in appointments, and handling retail sales transactions with retail math accuracy.
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair coloring, eyelash extensions, makeup application, or nail care to foster professional growth within the team.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Barber or Cosmetologist with specialization in barbering.
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with strong skills in haircutting, styling, coloring, and grooming services.
- Proficiency with salon software such as MINDBODY for scheduling and client management.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety protocols related to barbering tools like straight razors.
- Excellent communication skills for client consultations and team collaboration.
- Ability to perform diverse services including hair extensions, hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and nail care is a plus.
- Strong retail sales skills with the ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining excellent customer service.
