What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Exeter-West Greenwich Regional High School position at Exeter-West Greenwich Senior High School?
Exeter-West Greenwich is searching for an experienced and dynamic instructional leader for our senior high school. Exeter-West Greenwich Senior High School is a small, 4-star school located in a community that strongly supports education. The high school offers a wide range of programs, including Career and Technical Education pathways and numerous AP/advanced courses.
The principal will work collaboratively with district and other building level administrators, as well as staff, to advance the major goals and objectives of the Exeter West Greenwich Regional School District. Specific areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
Improve capacity of staff to address the needs of an increasingly more diverse student population.
Strengthen/expand CTE programming.
Involve students and staff in important decisions at the school.
Create/strengthen an inclusive and welcoming school culture where all members of the school community belong.
Provide oversight of the Response to Intervention system, special education programming, and comprehensive SEL/counseling services.
Strengthen communication across all stakeholder groups.
Use data-based protocols for evaluating programs, creating new programs, and establishing/monitoring school improvement efforts.
Ensure that school and district policies are implemented consistently and with fidelity.
Work closely with students and families to ensure all supports are in place to advance student success leading to graduation from EWG.
Oversee the NEASC accreditation process
The prinicipal must play an active role in developing a shared sense of leadership among all stakeholders. The principal should be highly visible and should work with the staff, departments, and individual teachers to improve instructional/assessment practices and to support professional growth.
The principal must engage meaningfully with the communities and must work to highlight and promote the positive learning experience provided by our high school.
The principal must manage the total program of the Senior High School, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, programming, and community/family outreach and supports.
Most importanty, the principal works with all other stakeholders to provide a supportive, engaging, academically rigorous, and socially exciting experience for ALL students who attend our high school.
